Hi everyone, Have you given the TILLS before? The reason I ask is that I do a complete walkthrough of the test in the video below, but as someone who has never given it. So it's my first impressions and honest reaction to the test as I go through it. First of all, 15 subtests? Man, I'm wondering if that's the largest number of subtests I've seen on an assessment before. It certainly feels like the assessment is doing a lot... maybe too much? That's just one thing I noticed about the test. I'd...

Hi everyone, School is out over here and it's nice to have a break. My kids have school for a bit more and I'm still busy with some speech things in order to earn a bunch of interesting CEUs (that I'll elaborate on over the course of the year ahead). But I'm looking at my planner for the summer and I'm wondering where I'm going to get in some relaxation. I'm taking a class towards my doctorate and it's essentially a research methods course... so that's going to take up some time... Have I...

Hi everyone, Another Sunday and I've got the Goldman Fristoe Test of Articulation in Spanish (3rd edition) for today's assessment walkthrough and review. If you are familiar with the GFTA in English, it's helpful because you know what to do with this assessment. In the video I compare both the Spanish protocol to the English one. I think it's valuable potentially as a teaching tool for SLPs who might think if I test speech sounds in English only, it's fine. Well, in the video I show you how...

Good morning and thank you!! If no one thanked you for the work you do every day, well let me be the first. Thank you for everything you do. Even when it feels like it doesn't matter, it does. As you know I have an online store: Speech Therapy is Beautiful store with over 50 f-r-e-e downloads (I actually had to double check the number because it's more than I had thought LOL). If you haven't checked them out before, go ahead and see what's there. Right now TPT is having a Teachers...

Hi everyone, It's Sunday and I've got another assessment-focused video for you. Last week, we discussed the Expressive One Word Picture Vocabulary Test, Spanish-Bilingual, 4th Edition or the EOW PVT SB4 (click to watch) Watch it here: OWLS2 Assessment If you remember the original OWLS? Maybe it's just some of us that have been doing this for awhile, but I do and I think I want to forget it! The original was clunky and it seems like OWLS2 was developed taking into consideration the problems...

Hi everyone, I'm back at it this Sunday releasing an assessment-focused video. Last week, we discussed the Receptive One Word Picture Vocabulary Test, Spanish-Bilingual Edition, 4th Edition (click to watch last week's). This week I'm talking about it's expressive companion test: the Expressive One Word Picture Vocabulary Test, Spanish-Bilingual, 4th Edition or the EOW PVT SB4 (click to watch) I walk you through the scoring of this assessment. One thing I discuss is that I've heard that this...

Hi everyone, The good news is that 2026 is going pretty good for me, definitely a year of new learning. However, 2024 and 2025 were both two of my worst years ever. I had a lot of hopes for 2025 because it was my year in the Chinese zodiac (I'm the snake). It held so much promise and then in the end it was bust. *cue tears* LUCKILY, it seems like 2026 is slowly becoming a wonderful year where I'm learning a ton of new skills and enjoying the process. I can't wait to share more in subsequent...

Hi everyone, Like I said last week, spring is making me so happy. I just looked outside and saw GREEN BUDS on the trees. That means baby squirrels are next! This squirrel family always has babies in the spring and I can't wait. The babies are so cute and silly. Anyway, I'm back uploading speech therapy related videos on YouTube. I just uploaded a video scoring the CELF4 in Spanish. What a wild test that is in terms of scoring! I'm still waiting for them to release a CELF5 in Spanish and...
