A personal update from me

Hi everyone,

I’ve been sharing speech therapy tips and ideas with you for a long time, and I’m so grateful you’ve been along for the ride. 💛

Today I’m opening up about something a little different. I just posted a new video on YouTube that’s the start of a personal series about my weight loss journey using Zepbound. It was prescribed for me because I met the criteria (and my insurance covered it, no less!)

This isn’t a shift away from speech therapy, so those videos and resources will still continue. In fact, I'm going to be filming some awesome speech therapy videos soon!

But I think many of you are like me who might have struggled with your weight. It's something we talk about with friends and coworkers (and I'm kind of like a friendly coworker, right?)

Since the pandemic, I've battled the scale gaining 20 lbs+ and if that's something that's happened with you, I think you’ll relate to what I share in this new series. My goal is to be honest, supportive, and encouraging for anyone who might be on a similar path.

Thank you for being part of this community and for supporting me in all the ways I grow, both professionally and personally. If weight loss is not your cup of tea, speech therapy stuff is still everything to me, but we are taking a short detour!

Thank you,
Sarah

Hi everyone, Back 18 months ago....one of you fabulous people named Mary reached out to me and asked me to create a Spanish version of the Imitation Hierarchy by Laura Mize. The Imitation Hierarchy is something that I think a lot of SLPs know on a gut level, but back before I wasn't aware of a formal hierarchy. It is part of the 180 page Building Verbal Imitation Skills in Toddlers program that Laura Mize has created on her website. She is a legend and a tremendous resource who has a ton of...

February has arrived! đź’ť Wow, January flew by and I'm hoping that February is a fresh start in so many ways. January wasn't a great start to the year, am I right? It was a rough one for our country and boy did that month drag on or what? February in Illinois brings ISHA, our state convention. I've been to ISHA a lot over the years and I've always liked it. The last time I was there was in 2019 and back then I actually made a video about it: What ISHA is like. Funny to think that it probably...
